They are forged from 6061-T6 alloy which is widely used for building aircraft and yachts and the surface is milled used computer controlled tools. The surfaces are angled to help deflect knocks and adjustable pin heights allow you to match them to your shoe.
Inside are tough bushings and cartridge bearings that are easy to maintain and the lip seal keeps mud out so you can ride longer between services. The axle is made from corrosion resistant CrMo (Chromium Molybdenum).
